Sara Ross

Sara Ross is a licensed clinical social worker who has worked in a wide variety of therapeutic settings.  Practicing in Routt Country for the past 10 years, she has acquired clinical experience working with a multitude of populations.  In 2007, she interned at the Denver Children’s Advocacy Center where she attended consultation and supervision with the Child Trauma Academy of Houston, Texas, under the leadership of Dr. Bruce Perry.

Sara has worked at the community mental health center (MindSpring) in a variety of roles including Emergency Services Coordinator, Intensive Family

Therapist, and In-School Therapist.  She has been honored to work in all the schools in Steamboat Springs, SoRoCo, Hayden, and the Yampa Valley school, with children and families.

Currently, Sara has a private practice working with individuals, couples and families,.  She also works as the counselor for the Cancer Program at Yampa Valley Medical Center.

Passionate about expanding her clinical knowledge and experience, Sara has gained advanced training in trauma & neurobiology, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, brief therapy, attachment theory, crisis, grief & loss work, oncology and Gottman’s philosophy of couples therapy.  This affords her a broad range of skills to pull from when working with people.
